Internet Filtering & E-Rate

The Monona Public Library (MPL) Board of Trustees needs your input at its next meeting.

Libraries throughout South Central Library System (SCLS) are looking at applying for E-Rate Funding through the Federal Government as a way to keep technology costs down. To be eligible, the library would need to filter its internet in compliance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA), implement an “Acceptable Use Policy”, and hold a public meeting to discuss said filtering and policy. The Monona Public Library Board of Trustees is considering whether to implement an Internet Access policy that will allow the Library to apply for federal funds.

A public meeting is scheduled to discuss internet filtering and accompanying policy:

Library Board Meeting on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Room at the Monona Public Library.
