Earth Week 2020 (April 18-25)

It’s the 50th anniversary of Earth Day this year!

Organizations around Monona are hosting events all week to celebrate Earth Day, which started right here in Wisconsin. Back in 1970, Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson started Earth Day as a day of environmental education for people across the country. 50 years later, we’re continuing to build on Senator Nelson’s legacy with a whole week of fun, educational and environmentally friendly events for the community. This page serves as a comprehensive list of the events organized in and around Monona for Earth Week.

Monona Spring Clean

Do you have old electronics and Styrofoam products that you don’t know how to dispose of properly? Bring them to our Spring Clean event and we’ll make sure that they’re recycled responsibly. While you’re there, you can grab some food from the food cart, learn more about where to take other difficult to recycle items and pick up some free mulch for your garden! The City’s Sustainability Committee is partnering with Resource Solutions and Reynolds Urethane Recycling for this event.

Saturday, April 25th | 8am-12pm
