Master Plan Timeline

The City of Monona has begun the master planning process to make improvements for the San Damiano Property. The development of the master plan was privately funded by the Friends of San Damiano. At this time, any improvements/projects recommended as part of the final master plan will have to be privately fundraised.

Please take a few minutes to take this survey to help provide the City with feedback. The purpose of this process and public survey is to collect opinions on the potential amenities, programming, and future development of this amazing public property.

Steering Committee

The mission of the Project Steering Committee is to engage the community in the development of a financially feasible master plan that conserves San Damiano as a public asset.

The San Damiano Project Steering Committee was formed on August 16, 2021 by the Monona City Council to assist the City and the Friends of San Damiano (a 501c3 non-profit) to coordinate the work related to the City’s purchase of the former San Damiano property. The purpose of the Project Steering Committee is to provide advice to the City and the Friends of San Damiano on all issues identified in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) approved on May 26, 2021 by providing input on key issues if/when they arise and to provide direction on fundraising activities and leading the public Visioning and Master plan process with a selected professional services consultant.
