earn great prizes from local merchants and businesses.
Yes! Children, teens AND adults can all sign up!

  2. June 1 to August 15: RECORD YOUR READING: Parents* see note below about Reading Logs.
  3. June 15 to August 15: COLLECT PRIZES: By reading books you enjoy, you could be a winner of great prizes donated by many local sponsors! Return your completed Reading Log to the Monona Public Library between June 15 and August 15 to collect reading incentive prizes for each level of reading that you complete. Please remember to check expiration dates on gift certificates.
  4. August 15 to August 29: MORE PRIZES! Keep reading! Complete Overtime Tickets to earn a chance to win even more prizes. Winners of Overtime prizes will be notified early in September.
  5. August 31 to September 7: Winners of the Overtime Reading Random Drawing will be announced! Winners will be contacted. Prizes will be held at the Front Desk for one week after the call.
  6. Adults: Our local Monona Starbucks will provide goodie bags for every completed adult reading record (while supplies last). And if this isn't great enough, those who have completed the program and turned in their records will be eligible for the random drawing of an iPad Mini! What could be sweeter?

Please use the Reading Log in a way that best suits the needs of your individual child. Help your child to set a goal of recording time spent reading or listening to books, pages read, or titles of books. If your child is already a motivated reader, you may choose to require additional time, pages or books from what the library requires. Children may choose to count time listening to someone read out loud to them, including listening to books on compact disc. Choose to collect the prizes we offer, or include your own reading incentives, such as a special activity for the whole family or time spent alone with a parent.
The library will be popping with summer theme related activities and events for adults, teens, tweens, children, and families.  Check our Facebook page, check the Events pages on this website, or sign up for our e-newsletter to get all of the details and registration dates.
Sign up for a free library card if you do not already have one. You may use any South Central Library System library card. Monona Public Library is refreshingly fine free! That means, no fee for overdue books (books must be checked out from Monona Library.)
