Monona Farmers' Market
Sunday, September 24, 2017
There is a great selection of fall produce!
The volunteer Master Gardeners concluded their season at the Monona Farmers’ Market with some fall advice. This is the perfect time to prepare your yard and garden for next year. As you clean up your garden add mulch or compost to the soil, over-seed your lawn, divide perennials and share extras with friends and neighbors, plant bulbs, clean your tools and get them sharpened for next spring. Enjoy this year’s produce throughout the year by canning and preserving.
Stop by Green’s Pleasant Springs Orchard for a variety of apples, applesauce and fresh pressed apple cider.
Popular singer/songwriter Liv Rather returns to the market on Sunday. Her sound combines a little Norah Jones with the Runaways. She is an artist to be enjoyed.
For the past three years, the Monona Farmers’ Market has been honored to receive the Best of Madison Silver and Bronze Awards. The market has been nominated again for the 2018 Best of Madison Awards in the category of Food & Drinks. You can show your support for the market by casting your vote online at bestofmadison.com from now until October 15.
The market, located at Ahuska Park, 400 East Broadway, is open every Sunday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm through October 29. EBT is accepted. The Double Dollars Program is available.
