The City's final brush collection of the year begins on Oct. 8 in district 1. The collection schedule is as follows:
District 1: Oct. 8
District 2: Oct. 15
District 3: Oct. 22
District 4: Oct. 29
While crews will collect brush all week in each district, they will not return to a street later in the week once they've collected from it. For this reason, residents must have their brush at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on Monday of their collection week in order to ensure collection.
Leaf collection will also begin in the month of October. There are no districts for leaf collection -- crews circle the city and vacuum leaves from the curbline as they see them. Leaf collection will continue until all leaves have been collected or until snow prevents further collection for the year. Residents may also dispose of leaves at the City's yard waste drop-off site, located at the Public Works Garage on Edna Taylor Parkway (between East Broadway and Femrite Drive, next to the Monona Dog Park). Residents are reminded to keep leaves and brush separated at the curb, since the process for collection is different for each.
