Monona Farmers' Market
Sunday, May 20, 2018
The Monona Farmers Market is bursting with color!
You’ll find spring flowers, bedding plants, herbs, cascading hanging baskets, and spectacular container gardens. Other seasonal delights include asparagus, rhubarb, radishes, green onions, salad greens and micro greens.
New to the market’s entertainment line-up is Bill Hill, a finger-style acoustic guitarist and vocalist. Bill specializes in the great jazz standards of the 1920’s to 1960’s. He performs songs by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday and many others – great music to listen to while shopping or sitting and enjoying a beverage or bite to eat.
Try some hot food. The Farm Kitchen offers made-to-order crepes and fresh pie. Egg rolls and crab Rangoon are available at May’s Kitchen.
There are things we want and don’t want in our yards and gardens. Stop by the Master Gardener’s booth to learn about protecting our Dane County pollinators like bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Do you have unwanted jumping worms in your yard? Learn how to recognize them, why they are harmful, and what you can do. The Master Gardeners are available to answer your gardening questions the first and third Sundays every month through September.
The market is located at Ahuska Park, 400 East Broadway. This easily accessible location offers free parking, bike racks and a surrounding park and playground. The market is open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm every Sunday through October 28. EBT is accepted.
