    Muslims and Their Culture: This presentation will cover basics of Islam and Islamic culture. It will introduce the audience to tenets of the Islamic faith, the religion of around 1.6 billion people all over the world.  It will also provide an opportunity to look at the diverse Muslim populations with different, cultural backgrounds around the world, and will shed particular light on how Muslims view Jesus and Mary through their holy scripture. About the Speaker: Asmahan Sallah is an associate professor in the department of Languages and Literatures at UW-Whitewater. She has a Ph.D in English from Texas A&M University. Her research is in contemporary fiction, comparative cultural criticism, and literary translation. She lives in Madison. Thank you to Meadowmere Madison and the Friends of the Monona Senior Center for their support of this program.
