From Walker to Evers: How Environmental Policy in Wisconsin Has Changed Historically, Wisconsin has been a leader in environmental policy, but during Scott Walker’s tenure as governor this legacy was called into question by the enactment of anti-regulatory policies that favored economic development over environmental protection. The policies of Governor Evers’ administration have prioritized public health and protection of the environment and represent a stark contrast to the policies of his predecessor. This talk will review the changing landscape of environmental policy in Wisconsin from Governor Walker to Governor Evers. Jonah Ralston is an associate professor of political science at UW- Whitewater and coordinator of the university's public policy and administration program.
