Committee Responsibilities

  • The Finance and Personnel Committee reviews and supervises implementation of the auditor's recommendations,
  • Investigates options for borrowing funds for capital and outlay expenditures,
  • Recommends depositories for city funds,
  • Reviews claims against the city,
  • Reviews accounting procedures,
  • Reviews ordinances and resolutions having a fiscal impact on the city,
  • Receives and reviews the annual budget from the Mayor and City Administrator and proposes a legislative budget to the City Council,
  • Reviews recommendations for revenue generation, including investment of city funds,
  • Reviews intergovernmental contracts,
  • Reviews all personnel matters, including establishment of wage and salary schedules for management and unclassified employees, and
  • Reviews all labor contracts and labor relations policies of the city.
