Log reading and activities, and earn prizes for all ages within Monona Public Library’s Beanstack webpage or through the Beanstack Tracker Mobile App. Record your reading by midnight on August 20 by clicking on the image above, and see below for instructions!
By reading or listening to the books and magazines you enjoy, you could be the winner of a fabulous prize! This year, our reading program requires reading, but includes extra activities that get you extra tickets to enter into prize drawings! Here's how you do it:
Log each day that you read: All you need to do is mark each day in your Beanstack reading log that you spend time reading. You will earn a badges and prize drawing tickets over a span of 20 days once you hit the milestones of reading 5, 10, 15, and 20 days within that range!
Complete Activity Badges! There are four optional activity badges this year for all ages: Think, Create, Share, and Grow. Each badge encourages you to participate in a different type of activity to make the most of your summer learning! See our ideas list for completing each activity badge! Once you complete an activity, hit the check box within each badge to earn extra prize drawing tickets!
The first day you can pick up the 10 day prize for the summer reading program this year is June 15th! For the 20 day prize, you can claim if you complete your reading by June 20th. Please note: Patrons must be able to pick up prizes from Monona Public Library inside our building or through curbside pickup. We are not able to mail prizes.
All children and Teens (ages 0-18) will earn a prize for 10 days of reading, as well as a prize pack upon completing the Summer Reading Program (20 days of reading) while supplies last. Prizes include Pizza Hut, Cousins Subs, a Culvers Free Scoop, Dane County Fair passes, Farm Adventures, and more!
What are Badges and Tickets?
For each badge that you earn for completing your reading and activities, you will receive ticket(s). You can enter these tickets into prize drawings on the "Ticket Rewards" tab within Beanstack!
If you choose to use a paper reading log, families and caregivers should still create a Beanstack account to record their child's progress. This will allow your child to choose which prizes they want to enter tickets into. If you are unable to use Beanstack, simply email a photo of your completed reading log to firstname.lastname@example.org or bring it in to the Monona Public Library when we are open. If you turn in a paper reading log, you will not have the option to choose which drawings to enter.
Please remember to check expiration dates on gift certificates.
Please note: This is not a comprehensive list of our sponsors/prizes. Not everyone will win a prize nor will any person be eligible for all the prizes.
*PARENTS Please use the Beanstack website or app or the paper reading log in a way that best suits the needs of your individual child. Help your child to set a goal of recording time spent reading or listening to books, pages read, or titles of books. If your child is already a motivated reader, you may choose to require additional time, pages or books from what the library requires. Children may choose to count time listening to someone read out loud to them, including listening to books on compact disc. Choose to collect the digital badges and random drawing tickets we offer, or include your own reading incentives, such as a special activity for the whole family or time spent alone with a parent.
