Community Engagement Event: Monona Police Chief Recruitment

The Police and Fire Commission welcomes and invites your participation in this community engagement event to meet Monona's selected finalist candidates for the next Police Chief. All are welcome to attend.
The Monona Police and Fire Commission has narrowed its search for a new Police Chief to 4 finalists. The individual selected will replace Walter Ostrenga, the former Police Chief who retired at the end of 2020. The process to find a new Police Chief began in February and included a community input session and a community feedback survey. The City received 24 applications for the position, and the Police and Fire Commission has narrowed the candidate pool down to 4, who will have final interviews with the Police and Fire Commission in closed session on Monday, May 10th.

The meeting will be recorded and posted on the City’s YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/MononaTV) for anyone unable to attend.
The event is co-hosted by the Monona Police and Fire Commission, GovHR recruiters, and the Nehemiah Center for Urban Leadership. Mr. Harry Hawkins from the Nehemiah Center will moderate the event. A set of questions will be developed for all candidates. All four finalist candidates will respond to this set of questions in a panel-style. The moderator will then ask any additional questions received from the public ahead of time, subject to time considerations.
